Inner balance is about balancing your inner world. The aim is to achieve and maintain a well-balanced whole. You bring together what is above and below the surface of your being.

In this whole, all your (body) parts, sides, qualities, and aspects take part. You include hard and soft skills, strength and pitfall, body and mind, and realism and idealism, as well as your masculine and feminine side in your decision-making, actions, and functioning.
This way shifting your span of control towards equal interrelations and creating synergy between all these sides of you.

The balancing concerns:
The thinking and feeling / the rational and sensing

This is related to connecting the left and right side of your body.

You can do so, for example, with breathing exercises that connect left and right. You can also try to make contact with both sides and connect in thought both sides and their (connective) tissue. Or, combine both.

Connecting both sides implies balancing:

  • the rational & the emotional;
  • the thinking & the feeling;
  • the active & the passive;
  • the reasoning and rationally explainable & deeper levels of knowing, which involves an inner knowing and includes the gut-feeling, a spontaneous hunch, innate behavior or instinct, and the otherwise explainable;
  • focus on the outer world / outer perception & the inner world / inner experience.
Your mental power to create and your natural creative abilities

This is related to connecting the upper and lower body.

You can do so, for example, with breathing exercises that connect both body parts. You can also try to make contact with your pelvic area, as the connective body part, and then connect in thought head to toe.  Or, combine both.

Connecting both sides implies balancing:

  • mental power & creative energy;
  • providing structure & surrender to organic flow;
  • the ratio & intuition, i.e. the logic of reasoning & the ‘logic’ of sensing;
  • outwardly focused creative power & inner driven creative power,
    which is similar to outwardly directed & intrinsically felt;
  • doing & being / acting & pausing / getting things done & taking time to connect;
  • hardness & softness or vulnerability, in terms of mentality, resilience, behavior, and attitude in relation to yourself and others.
    Concerning a.o. (self-)respect, (self-)confidence, (self-)appreciation, (self-)love, (self-)reflection, (self-)acceptance.
Your visible and invisible sides

This is related to connecting the front and back of your body.

You can do so, for example, with breathing exercises that connect both sides. You can also try to make contact with both sides and connect in thought both sides and their (connective) tissue. Or, combine both.

This balance implies inner harmony between:
your sunny sides & your shadow sides or dark sides in terms of abilities, skills, aspects, and qualities. This involves amongst others:

your nice & lesser sides, what you are aware & not aware of, your present & your past, your strength &nd your weakness, your inner child & adult, family ties & family history, the practical & the inspired, the material & non-material (spiritual).

By connecting all these parts and aspects of yourself, with your heart as the central connecting point, you integrate them as one balanced working whole.
